TheLiquidPhase:About
From TheLiquidPhase
TheLiquidPhase (TLP) is a community portal dedicated to the proliferation of knowledge and good technique in Countercurrent Chromatography (CCC). It has been organized both to help prospective users learn about the potential that CCC might hold for them, and to provide a virtual meeting place for discussions among experienced users.

Format
TheLiquidPhase has been setup in the form of a wiki. This simply means that anyone who visits the site, and registers as a user, can make modifications and additions to the content quickly and easily. In other words, this site is maintained by a community of users rather than a single entity. To some, providing anyone with the ability to edit the site might not sound like a good idea. However, this method has been around for many years and has proven to provide far more advantages than drawbacks.
Please remember that YOU are encouraged to contribute to this site as well. Please see Tutorial for more information on editing and how to get started.
Goals
The goals of TheLiquidPhase is to combine the existing pool of knowledge into a free, comprehensive and unbiased catalog that anyone can contribute to, and from which everyone can gain a deeper understanding of CCC. In doing so we hope to help foster around it, the already growing community of CCC enthusiasts.
History
This site was first conceived during a conversation between Samuel Pro and Dr. Guido Pauli (both Chicago) at the CCC2006 conference at NIH in Bethesda, MD. Their discussion was sparked by what they perceived as one of today's main challenges in further developing CCC: a simple lack of knowledge outside the CCC community. It was clear to them that this lapse had very much inhibited the widespread acceptance of CCC as a routine technique, and that it would continued to do so, unless a globally available source of unbiased information became available.
Their discussion soon turned to the use of the Internet as a tool to correct this problem. Dr. Pauli had had a site (countercurrent.org) for several years, but the two agreed that something more than a standard website was needed. It was from this discussion that the details and format of TheLiquidPhase.org were forged.
