Modes of Operation

CCC instruments can operate in a variety of different modes depending on the users preferences and the requirements of the experiment:

• Normal Mode
• Dual Mode
• Elution Extrusion Mode (EECCC)
• Gradient Mode
• True Countercurrent Mode (tCCC)
• Co-current Mode (CoCC)
• pH Zone Refining

Some of these operation modes can be combined to optimize throughput and/or selectivity for a given separation challenge. For example, any run in which Dual Mode or EECCC is used start out as a "normal mode" separation. In order to elute the analyte(s) of interest most efficiently, the apparatus may be switched to either Dual Mode or EECCC after running in 'normal mode' for a certain amount of time.
